ABSTRACT

The spread of the COVID-19 virus has made the World Health Organization (WHO) declare a global pandemic that has resulted in a lockdown and requires working from home, studying from home, and worshiping at home. The sudden decision given by the government to move home learning made various educational institutions unprepared to conduct online learning and made educators confused in carrying out the learning process, especially in physics practicum learning. This study aims to develop a practicum video assisted by Instagram as an alternative to learning. The type of research used is research and development (Research and Development) with the Plomp design model. This study uses several stages, namely: Preliminary Investigation, Design, Realization / Construction, Test, and Implementation. The feasibility of the product is carried out by means of a material expert test and a media expert test. Based on the results of the feasible criteria validation, the percentage of each expert was obtained by 91.8% stated with very feasible criteria by material experts, and 94.6% stated with very feasible criteria by media experts. Then a small group test was conducted to 20 students with a feasibility criteria percentage of 74.58% stated with feasible and the feasibility criteria of a field test to 52 students amounting to 74.42% stated with feasible. © 2023 Author(s).

ABSTRACT

As the number of internet users continues to grow, smartphone addiction has become a significant problem among today's youths. This addiction is exacerbated by cyberloafing and personality traits, which can negatively impact productivity and efficiency in educational settings. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between smartphone addiction, personality traits, and cyberloafing behaviour among Malaysian youth. The study involved a sample of 150 urban youths aged 18 and above living in the Klang Valley area. Participants completed three questionnaires, the Short Form Smartphone Addiction Inventory Scale, Mini-International Personality Item Pool, and Cyberloafing Scale via an online survey. SPSS was used to analyse the data. The results showed that males had a higher level of smartphone addiction. Additionally, extraversion and conscientiousness were found to be strongly correlated with smartphone addiction. While cyberloafing behaviour was positively correlated with extraversion traits, there was no significant correlation with smartphone addiction. In conclusion, young adults with an extraversion personality trait are at a higher risk of smartphone addiction and cyberloafing activities. For future investigations, the effects of the endemic COVID-19 on smartphone addiction should be explored to discover other problematic Internet use behaviour © 2023, Asian Journal of University Education. ABSTRACT

The implementation of learning in Indonesia in the face of the Covid-19 period requires teachers to continue to play an active role in increasing student interest in learning. Muzdalifah Special School is a school that provides learning facilities for children with special needs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Muzdalifah Special School implemented Learning from Home, but there were obstacles in the learning process causing several changes to students which ultimately affected the decrease in interest in learning for SLB students. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors causing the decline in student interest in learning by using the C4.5 method. Sources of research data obtained through interviews and giving questionnaires to parents of students. The attributes used in determining the factors causing the decline in student interest in learning include: Learning Media, Parental Attention, Study Time, Conditions and Understanding. From the calculation results, the Parental Attention attribute is an attribute that affects the decrease in student interest in learning. The test was carried out using the Rapidminer tool with an accuracy value of 83.33%.

ABSTRACT

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to global health crisis. Most studies have focused on evaluating the effects of COVID-19 on the general population, and there is still insufficient data on its impact on vulnerable populations, such as pregnant women. The study evaluates maternal and perinatal outcomes on pregnant women with COVID-19 in Kariadi as tertiary hospital in Central Java. Methods: We prospectively collected and analyzed data for a cohort of 45 pregnant patients with COVID-19 between March 31st and September 23th 2020 in Kariadi hospital. Results: Atotalof45pregnantwomenwith COVID-19 delivered 46 babies including one twin pregnancy. The symptoms ranged from asymptomatic (54.3%), mild (26.6%), moderate (8.8%), severe (2.2%), and critical (6.6%). Gestational age was 22 to 41 weeks. Cesarean section was the most mode of delivery (86.7 %). Diabetes in pregnancy and HIV were the most common comorbidities found in this study, there were also seven patients came with preeclampsia. There were three maternal mortalities, we reported one maternal death (2.2 %) caused by severe respiratory disease COVID-19 in second trimester. The other two death cases were pregnancy complicated with severe preeclampsia with hyperthyroid and preeclampsia with diabetes in pregnancy. Perinatal outcomes were intrauterine fetal death (8.7%), stillbirth (2.2%), and severe asphyxia (2.2%). Conclusion: Although we obtain mostly maternal and perinatal outcomes in good outcomes, it is urgent to analyze potential high-risk maternal death with COVID 19. © 2021, Sanglah General Hospital.
